This is an excellent trilobite that we recently acquired from the DeRosear Collection. It is a large specimen of Brachyaspidion microps from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This type of trilobite has a somewhat rectangular cephalon with short genal spines, thirteen thoracic segments, and a small, rounded pygidium. This complete trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits outstanding detail. Both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The inflated bug has beautiful color and contrast and is nicely presented on the natural plate of shale. This is a superb example of Brachyaspidion microps from the Wheeler Formation.
