Here is an outstretched Flexicalymene granulosa from a very famous Ordovician site in Pennsylvania. This locality is well-known for the Cryptolithus trilobites which are found there. In fact, there is a partial Cryptolithus cephalon right next to the Flexicalymene. This specimen is unusual in that it was found in the "sandy beds" of this site. The "sandy beds" have been interpreted as a high energy, turbulent, storm deposit. This bug has nice, orangish coloration and is well presented on the natural plate of shale. This is a fine example of Flexicalymene granulosa from Swatara Gap.
