Here is an unusual Canadian trilobite. This is Olenellus roddyi from the Lower Cambrian of Newfoundland. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1989. We have heard that this location is now gone! This trilobite is complete and exhibits fine detail. The flaring genal spines and long pleural spines are easily seen, and even the ''tail spine'' is present. The trilobite has good color and contrast and is nicely presented on the plate of shale that also contains two smaller trilbites and an impression of another bug. This is a nice example of this uncommon species of trilobite from an exotic location.
