This is an excellent US trilobite. It is a highly uncommon Viaphacops bomifrons from the Bois d'Arc Formation of Oklahoma. This trilobite is EXTREMELY inflated and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The trilobite is well preserved and exhibits great detail. The pustules on the large glabella are clearly defined, and the protruding eyes are easily seen. The thick, caramel-colored exoskeleton of the bug contrasts strikingly with the cream-colored matrix. The trilobite is beautifully presented on the rectangular plate of sculpted limestone. This is a gorgeous specimen of this hard-to-find trilobite from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma.
