This is a very colorful trilobite. It is a Phacops speculator from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is quite inflated and wonderfully articulated. It is preserved in an outstretched position and exhibits excellent detail. The large, compound eyes are just great - the individual lenses are beautifully displayed. The bug has gorgeous, natural, light-brown to orange coloration and contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well presented on the oval plate of sculpted limestone. This is a pretty specimen of Phacops speculator with outstanding eyes.
