This is a nice specimen of Ductina vietnamica from the Devonian of China. This trilobite is very 3-dimensional and well articulated. It is wonderfully preserved in an outstretched position. The fine detail of the trilobite is easily seen - the individual thoracic segments are clearly defined, and the almost smooth cephalon and pygidium are quite distinct. The orangish-colored bug contrasts beautifully with the gray matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the somewhat rectangular plate of shale. This is a very good example of this Devonian trilobite from China.
