Here is a rare Middle Cambrian trilobite from China. This is Kummingaspis sp. from the Kailia Beds. This formation contains a fauna that is very similar to the famous Burgess Shale deposits of Canada. This bug is complete and nicely outstretched. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits superb detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The individual thoracic segments are easily seen, and the short genal spines are clearly defined. Even the tiny pygidium is intact. The fossil has excellent color and contrast and is well presented on the natural plate of matrix. This is a very beautiful example of this highly uncommon trilobite from China.
