Here is a pretty specimen of Coronocephalina jastrowi from the Silurian of China. This type of trilobite has an extremely small, pustulose glabella and a huge pygidium. The bug exhibits one long genal spine, and some of the small, thin pygidial spines are clearly defined. The fossil has outstanding yellowish-orange color and contrasts beautifully with the brownish-gray matrix. It is almost perfectly centered on the somewhat rectangular plate of matrix that also contains a large Coronocephalina pygidium on the reverse side. This is a very appealing example of Coronocephalina from China.
