Here is a nice specimen of Paralejurus dormitzeri (Type B) from the Devonian of Morocco. This type differs from the more common Type A by having a flattened area at the front of the cephalon and by possessing short genal spines. This trilobite is very 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The small genal spines are quite evident and the pointed pleurons are clearly defined. The bug has excellent color and contrast and is well presented on the sculpted plate of matrix. This is a very affordable example of this unusual type of Paralejurus.
