This is a very spiny US trilobite we acquired from an old collection. It is a very nice Ceratonurus sp. from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This type of trilobite has extremely thin genal spines and occipital spines, which have been meticulously repaired and prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen. The bug is almost perfectly prone and exhibits wonderful detail. The long, flowing pleural spines are beautifully showcased, and even the tiny ''fringes'' of the free cheeks are intact. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix plate. It is very well displayed on the sculpted block of natural limestone. This is a very affordable example of one of the most sought-after trilobites from Oklahoma.
