This is an extremely robust specimen of Metacanthina barrandei from the Devonian of Morocco. The bug is complete and wonderfully articulated. The long, stout genal spines are easily seen, and the individual lappets of the pygidium are quite evident. The trilobite exhibits fine detail - the eyes are exceptionally preserved, and almost all of the individual lenses are clearly defined. The trilobite has great color and contrast and is nicely centered on the somewhat rectangular block of dense limestone. This is a very pleasing example of Metacanthina with beautiful compound eyes.
