This is a VERY large Ordovician trilobite. It is a huge Dikelocephalina sp. from Morocco. This is one of the more ''faked'' trilobites from Morocco, but this one is the real thing. It was found in the limestone zone, not the shale layers, so the bug is very inflated and 3-D. The bug has its shell (skin) preserved, which is also unusual. The trilobite has beautiful reddish-brown coloration and contrasts well with the light-colored sculpted matrix block. And at almost 14 inches long, it is one huge trilobite. Anyone that knows what this bug is supposed to look like will know this is a nice one, a REALLY nice one! This is one specimen that will never have to be upgraded.
