This is an interesting trilobite from the DeRosear Collection. It is a Reacalymene limba from the Ordovician of Wales. Doug acquired this specimen in 1979, and it has been in his collection ever since. This trilobite is complete and nicely preserved in an outstretched position. The bug shows a slight amount of lateral compression indicative of this classic site. The trilobite is very 3-dimensional and exhibits fine detail. The natural brown color of the fossil contrasts wonderfully with the grayish-tan matrix. The trilobite is well presented on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very colorful example of this European trilobite.
