Here is an interesting plate of trilobites that we recently acquired from the DeRosear Collection. Doug found this specimen in 1990, and it has been in his collection ever since. There are two examples of Flexicalymene retrorsa and one specimen of Isotelus maximus on the slab. It is somewhat unusual to find these different trilobites on the same rock. All of the trilobites are natural to the plate - they have not been composited. All three enrolled trilobites are complete and wonderfully articulated. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The ancient arthropods have great color and contrast and are well presented on the natural plate of shale. This is a unique specimen of two different types of trilobites from the Arnheim Formation.
