Here is a great specimen of a classic US trilobite from the DeRosear Collection. This is Sthenarocalymene celebra from the Silurian of Indiana. Doug found this specimen in 1980, and it has been in his collection ever since. The trilobite is extremely robust and exhibits fine detail. It is wonderfully articulated and well preserved in the ''crawling'' position. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The trilobite is covered with tiny, sparkling dolomite crystals and is beautifully displayed in the center of the dense slab. This is an excellent example of Sthenarocalymene from an obscure site in Indiana.
