Here is a spectacular spiny trilobite. This is a very robust "Devil-Horned" Cyphaspis from Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. It is obvious how this type got its name - it has two long spines protruding from the glabella. This specimen has these spines intact, and they were prepared in a free-standing manner. Along with the two nose spines, this large specimen has two long genal spines and an EXTREMELY LONG axial spine that are also free-standing and beautifully displayed. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and well articulated. It is very 3-dimensionally preserved and exhibits exquisite detail. The black trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. It is nicely positioned on the rounded block of dense limestone. This is a ''top quality'' specimen of this spiny trilobite from the Devonian.
