This is a beautiful trilobite that we recently acquired from the DeRosear Collection. It is a Lloydolithus lloydi from the Ordovician of England. This prone trilobite is complete and wonderfully articulated. The detail of this bug is just incredible - the finely granulose cephalic fringe seems to exhibit every bump. The extremely long, thin genal spines are beautifully displayed and extend way beyond the body of the trilobite. The bug has excellent color and contrast and is well centered on a large (approximately 3.3" X 4.3") plate of matrix. This is one of the most displayable examples of Lloydolithus that we have seen.
