This is a very appealing plate of trilobites that we recently acquired from the DeRosear Collection. These are Ellipsocephalus hoffi from the Cambrian of the Czech Republic. There are three trilobites on the plate and all are touching. The two smaller examples are the typical size for the species, while the larger trilobite is huge! The inflated bugs have great, natural color and contrast beautifully with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossils are wonderfully centered on the squared plate. This is a very ''clean'' specimen of Ellipsocephalus from a classic European site.
