This is an extremely rare multiple specimen of Yunanocephalus sp. from the famous Chengjiang locality in China. This site is known worldwide for soft-body preservation of Lower Cambrian animals. The fauna is very similar to the Burgess Shale, but it is OLDER! Many one-of-a-kind organisms have been described exclusively from this formation.
These trilobites are very well preserved on the sand-colored matrix plate. The bugs exhibit great detail, especially for this type of trilobite. They are aesthetically grouped on the rock - lined up close together. This is a unique multiple example of this highly collectible trilobite from one of the most famous fossil localities in the world.
