This is a very displayable specimen of Crotalocephalus gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This large specimen was meticulously prepared in the EXTINCTIONS prep lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits incredible detail. The very small eyes are easily seen, and the short genal spines are clearly defined. The triangular pleurons terminate in sharp points, and the upswept pygidial spines are intact and have been prepared in a free-standing position for optimal display. The 3-dimensional bug has fantastic color and contrast and is beautifully posed on the sculpted, oval plate of dense limestone. This is a stunning example of this strange-looking trilobite.
