As everyone knows, complete Carboniferous trilobites are quite rare. This is a complete Piltonia kuehnei from the Lower Carboniferous of Belgium. This type of Proetid trilobite has a very pustulose surface which is quite distinct on this specimen. This bug is almost perfectly prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present, which is highly unusual. The trilobite has very good color and contrast and is well presented on the natural block of matrix that also contains other trilobite fragments. This is a fine example of this Carboniferous trilobite from Europe.
