This is a fine specimen of Hunanolenus genalatus from the Cambrian of China. It is unusual to find this type of trilobite with the free cheeks intact. This example has both free cheeks present and exhibits great detail. The extremely long genal spines are beautifully displayed, and the short, pointed pleural spines are clearly defined. The crescent-shaped eyes are quite distinct, and even the tiny pygidium is intact. The bug has good color and contrast and is nicely presented on the somewhat rectangular plate of shale. This is a very ''clean'' example of this Cambrian trilobite from China.
