This is a spectacular trilobite. It is an extremely spiny Ceratarges sp. (Type B) from the Devonian of Morocco. This remarkable bug has been meticulously prepared in the EXTINCTIONS prep lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This 3-dimensional trilobite is well preserved in a contraflexed position and exhibits outstanding detail. It has two pairs of long pygidial spines and one pair of thin, arching occipital spines - all of which have been prepared in a free-standing position. The eyes are borne on the ends of long stalks - these have also been prepared free of matrix. The trilobite has excellent natural color and contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The ancient arthropod is wonderfully presented on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very impressive specimen of this spinose trilobite from Morocco.
