Here is a very affordable spiny trilobite. This is Leonaspis sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This 3-dimensional trilobite is complete with the tail slightly tucked downward. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits good detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The small, protruding eyes are easily seen, and the extremely long genal spines and thin pleural spines are clearly defined. The black color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The bug is well centered on the rounded plate of limestone. This is a fine example of a spiny Leonaspis from the Atlas Mountains.
