This is a very displayable specimen of an unusual Moroccan trilobite. It is a Neometacanthina sp. from the Devonian. This specimen is slightly different than the usual Neometacanthina - it was found in a different zone. This type has tiny eyes, extremely long, wide genal spines, and many long pygidial spines. All of these features are clearly defined and beautifully displayed on this specimen. The almost perfectly prone bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. The trilobite has very nice color and contrast and is well presented on the large, sculpted plate of limestone. This is an excellent example of this highly uncommon trilobite from Morocco.
