Here is a very uncommon trilobite from Morocco. This is a Comura cometa (Type A) from the Devonian. This type of trilobite has extremely long genal spines and pygidial spines. This slightly arched specimen is quite large for the type and very 3-dimensional. The bug is well articulated - both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The large, protruding eyes are easily seen, and the long spines are clearly defined. The black trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. It is wonderfully centered on the somewhat triangular block of dense limestone. This is a very good example of this unusual trilobite from Morocco.
