This is an excellent specimen of Coronocephalina jastrowi from the Silurian of China. This trilobite is hardly ever found with the free cheeks present. This specimen is very well articulated - both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached! This type of trilobite has a small pustulose glabella and a pronged cephalic process. The anterior border of the cephalon is quite crenulated, and the large pygidium has short, thin spines along the pygidial border. All of these features are beautifully displayed on this specimen. The natural yellow coloration of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the grayish-brown matrix. The bug is well presented on the rectangular block. This is an exceptional example of Coronocephalina from China.
