This is an outstanding specimen of Bolaspidella sp. from the Marjum Formation of Utah. This species of Bolaspidella has a semicircular cephalon with a very prominent upturned convex border and no spine on the occipital ring. This trilobite is quite large for the type and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The short, flaring genal spines are beautifully displayed and the small eyes are easily seen. The reddish-brown bug contrasts nicely with the pinkish-tan matrix. The trilobite is well presented on a rectangular plate of shale. This is a great example of Bolaspidella sp. from the Middle Cambrian.
