Here is a very difficult-to-find trilobite - especially in this condition. This is a beautiful Olenellus fowleri from the Lower Cambrian of Nevada. This type of Olenellus is very wide with long, sweeping pleural spines and an opisthothorax comprised of many, many segments. This specimen has great color and exhibits excellent detail. The short, flaring genal spines are easily seen and the incredible opisthothorax is wonderfully displayed. It also has the long tailspine fully articulated. And it is a split pair - both the part and counterpart (not pictured) are included. The bug is almost perfectly centered on the squared plate of matrix. This is one of the most aesthetic examples we have seen of this rare species of Olenellus.
