Here is an excellent specimen of Kettneraspis sp. from the Bois d'Arc Formation of Oklahoma. This trilobite was found by Steve Hess in 1993 and just now prepared. This undescribed species of Kettneraspis has one more thoracic segment than Kettneraspis williamsi found in the Haragan Formation. This trilobite is quite prone and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The bug is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The protruding eyes are easily seen, and the short, pointed occipital spine is intact. The long, sweeping genal spines and pleural spines are beautifully displayed. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. It is nicely presented on the natural block of limestone. This is a superb example of this ''new'' species of Kettneraspis from Oklahoma.
