This is a beautiful spiny trilobite. It is a Dicranurus monstrosus from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. This type of trilobite is well-known for its spider-like appearance. This specimen is complete and very 3-dimensional. It is well articulated and exhibits fine detail. The free cheeks are intact, and the occipital spine "Ram's Horns" are quite large and prepared in a free-standing manner. The body spines are very long and flow beautifully. The bug has great color and contrast and is wonderfully centered on the block of limestone. This is a very displayable example of one of the favorite trilobites among collectors.
