This is a very nice multiple plate of trilobites from the Ordovician of Russia. On the left side of the plate is a large Asaphus (Neoasaphus) kotlukovi. This trilobite has short eyes and a wide body. A fine example of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) punctatus is on the right side of the slab. This type of Asaphid trilobite has much longer eye stalks. Both trilobites are complete and wonderfully articulated. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The bugs are preserved in a 3-dimensional manner and exhibit fine detail. The eyes of both trilobites are intact and easily seen. The dark, caramel-brown color of the bugs contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. The fossils are well positioned on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a great specimen of two different Asaphid trilobites from Russia.
