This is a fantastic example of Crotalocephalus gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This large specimen was meticulously prepared in the EXTINCTIONS prep lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. The outstretched trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The detail of the trilobite is just amazing. The very small eyes are easily seen and the short genal spines are quite evident. The triangular pleurons terminate in sharp points, and the upswept pygidial spines are intact and have been prepared in a free-standing position. The hypostoma, or mouthplate, of the trilobite is even present and beautifully displayed. The bug has outstanding color and contrast and is well positioned on the block of sculpted limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this odd-looking trilobite.
