This is a fabulous trilobite fossil. It is a beautiful Acanthopyge from Morocco. This type was composited from parts for years, because there had never been a complete specimen found. Over the last few years, though, a few complete ones have been unearthed, and this is one of them. This specimen was microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. The quality of this trilobite is exceptional - the thick shell exoskeleton is beautifully preserved and exhibits amazing detail - the fine pustulation is even seen with the naked eye. The bug is fully complete - the head, body, and tail are all intact and well articulated. And the trilobite is very inflated and 3-dimensional, as seen in the second photo. This is not only an excellent example of this rare Lichid trilobite, it is a wonderful display bug.
