Here is a very collectible US trilobite. This is a large Huntonia oklahomae from the Bois d'Arc Formation of Oklahoma. This trilobite was found by Steve Hess in 1997. This 3-dimensional bug is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached, which is quite unusual. The inflated, protruding eyes are easily seen, and even the individual lenses of the compound eyes are clearly defined. This is extremely uncommon. The long, wide genal spines are beautifully displayed, and the short caudal spine is quite evident. The trilobite has excellent color and contrast and is wonderfully centered on the block of marlstone. This is a gorgeous specimen of this highly sought-after trilobite.
