This is a wonderful specimen of Bolaspidella sp. from the Marjum Formation of Utah. This species of Bolaspidella has a semicircular cephalon with a very prominent upturned convex border and no spine on the occipital ring. This trilobite is quite large for the type and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The small eyes are easily seen, and even the tiny pygidium is intact. The dark brown bug contrasts beautifully with the pinkish-tan matrix. This is a great example of this Middle Cambrian trilobite from Utah.
