This is a fine specimen of Crotalocephalus gibbus from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. It is well-preserved in a slightly contraflexed position and exhibits very good detail. The small eyes are quite distinct, and the pygidial spines are very easy to see. The pleurons of the trilobite terminate in sharp points. The trilobite has great, natural coloration and contrasts beautifully with the light tan matrix. The bug is almost perfectly centered on the somewhat rectangular block of limestone. This is a very aesthetic example of this odd-looking trilobite.
