This is an excellent specimen of Cyphaspis carrolli from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This beautifully articulated trilobite exhibits great detail. The bulbous glabella is covered with fine pustules, and the stalked eyes are prominently displayed. The thin genal spines are easily seen. This type of trilobite has a long thoracic spine. On this specimen, that spine has been prepared in a free-standing manner. The robust trilobite has thick, caramel-colored exoskeleton that contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is well presented on the squared piece of sculpted limestone. This is an outstanding example of Cyphaspis carrolli from the Haragan Formation.
