This is a very displayable spiny trilobite. It is a gorgeous specimen of Leonaspis sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen was meticulously prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab here in Colorado. The outstretched bug is very 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The exquisite detail of the trilobite is just outstanding. The long spines are quite evident, and the short ''fringes'' of the cheeks are clearly defined. The protruding eyes are easily seen, and the short occipital spine has been prepared in a free-standing manner. The trilobite has beautiful, natural color and contrasts well with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossil is nicely presented on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a striking example of this spiny Leonaspis from Morocco.
