Here is an excellent specimen of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. This trilobite is complete and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached - which is somewhat unusual. The bug is quite prone and exhibits great detail - every pointed pleuron tip is intact. The black trilobite contrasts well with the grayish matrix and it is nicely positioned on the rectangular plate of shale. This is a very pretty specimen of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Wheeler Formation.
