This is a wonderful specimen of Lonchodomas suriensis from the Ordovician of Argentina. This type of trilobite has a very long, extremely thin cephalic process and a wide, triangular pygidium. This specimen is nicely articulated and exhibits fine detail. Even the long ''nose spine'' is evident. The trilobite has great color and contrasts beautifully with the matrix. It is well centered on the natural plate of shale that also contains a very interesting graptolite. This is an excellent example of this elusive trilobite from South America.
