This is a large Ordovician trilobite. It is a complete Asaphopsoides sp. from the Hunan Province of China. This specimen measures a whopping 7 1/2 inches - a large bug, to say the least. The trilobite has good detail and contrasts beautifully on the plate of black limestone. The bug is nicely centered on the semi-squared, unbroken block of matrix. This is a large, extremely displayable trilobite that can be seen from across the room!
