This is a stunning specimen of a RARE US trilobite. It is a large Ceraurinus icarus(?) from the DeRosear Collection. Doug had this specimen for years, unprepared, and it was just now expertly prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. This trilobite is complete, and the thick shell exoskeleton is incredibly well preserved. The natural blond coloration of the bug is amazing - subtle, yet striking. The genal spines and one tailspine have been prepared free-standing. Although enrolled, this is one of the most displayable examples of this type we have seen. It is a museum quality example of this fabled trilobite from the Midwestern United States.
