This is an excellent Phacopid trilobite. It is a Reedops deckeri from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This trilobite should not be confused with the more common Kainops or Paciphacops - the other Phacopid trilobites found in this formation. This robust trilobite is extremely prone and very 3-dimensional. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits great detail. The very fine pustules on the entire carapace are quite evident, and the individual lenses of the large compound eyes are still intact. The thick-shelled exoskeleton has gorgeous, natural coloration and contrasts well with the light tan matrix. It is nicely presented on the large, sculpted block of limestone. This is a very attractive specimen of this relatively uncommon Oklahoma trilobite.
