Here is a great Oklahoma trilobite. This is Huntonia lingulifer from the Lower Devonian. This species of Huntonia has a long caudal spine which is beautifully displayed on this specimen. This outstretched trilobite is very 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The extremely symmetrical bug exhibits excellent detail. The cephalic process is easily seen, and the flaring genal spines are clearly defined. Most of the individual lenses of the large compound eyes are quite evident which is highly unusual. Many times, the eyes of Huntonia are preserved in a collapsed position - but not this specimen. The eyes of this trilobite are very inflated. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. It is well presented on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very stunning example of a ''long-tailed'' Huntonia from the Haragan Formation.
