Here is an excellent Canadian trilobite. This is a very large specimen of Greenops widderensis from the Devonian of Ontario. This trilobite is quite 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. The cephalon is slightly tilted upward, and the broad genal spines flare downward at a jaunty angle. The bug exhibits very fine detail. The large compound eyes are easily seen, and the individual pygidial lappets are beautifully displayed. The thick-shelled exoskeleton of the trilobite is completely covered with fine pustules. The dark brown trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. This is a great specimen of a large Greenops widderensis from Ontario.
