Here is a very unusual trilobite specimen from the Ordovician of Canada. There are two Bathyurus extans sitting side by side. On the left is a large negative (counterpart). Sitting directly beside this trilobite is a smaller positive specimen. Both specimens are very nicely articulated and exhibit great detail. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The extremely long genal spines extend almost to the pygidium. The trilobites are well positioned on a large, natural, somewhat rectangular, plate of matrix that also contains a few other trilobite parts. This is a wonderful double specimen of this very rare trilobite from Canada.
