Here is an unusual Moroccan trilobite. This is a Treveropyge prorotundifrons from the Devonian. This type of trilobite has extremely large eyes that protrude way above the carapace and very thin "skin" on the exoskeleton. This slightly contraflexed trilobite is complete and quite inflated. It is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. Most of the individual lenses of the HUGE compound eyes are easily seen. The pointed pleural spines and pygidial spines are beautifully defined. The dark brown trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The bug is well centered on the sculpted block of limestone. This is a very striking specimen of Treveropyge prorotundifrons from the Atlas Mountains.
