This is a very attractive Proetid trilobite. It is a large Cornuproetus cornutus from the Devonian of Morocco. This specimen is extremely 3-dimensional and almost perfectly prone. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and exhibits fine detail. The eyes are easily seen and the extremely long genal spines are beautifully displayed. The black trilobite contrasts nicely with the light-colored matrix. It is well centered on the rounded plate of limestone. This is a very displayable example of Cornuproetus from Morocco.
