Here is a rare trilobite. This is a large specimen of Asaphus (Neoasaphus) delphinus from the Ordovician of Russia. It is very easy to see the differences between this bug and the more common Russian Asaphids. This type of trilobite has small eyes and a very pointed cephalon and a triangular pygidium. This trilobite is almost perfectly prone and extremely well articulated. It is very 3-dimensional and exhibits great detail. The natural, dark caramel color of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. It is nicely presented on the large block of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this highly collectable Asaphid trilobite from Russia.
